I was born in Managua, Nicaragua, my passion for Electronic music started when I was about 9 years old. In 1999, while watching “Telehit”, a music TV channel from Mexico, a music video came up with the title “For an Angel” by Paul van Dyk and I remember being blown away by it. From then on, Electronic music quickly became my favorite genre.
In mid 2006, I moved to Houston, Texas where I continued to go to school. Towards the end of my high school years, I grew a huge interest in Technology/Computers and decided to take a Computer Science at the same time I attended high school. Shortly after graduating in 2011, I decided to skip College/University and use what I learned in Computer Science to self teach and build my IT professional career. During this time I was also exploring my music interest. In 2012 I bought my first pair of Pioneers CDJs 800 MKIIs and a Pioneer DJM-600 mixer. This gear allowed me to get familiar and comfortable mixing with digital turntables.
At the same time, I started to look deeper into DAWs, as this is the ultimate tool for creating your own art. I started to experiment with FL Studio, back then it was called “Fruity Loops”…Feel old yet?…I know.. Anyways, I was quickly intimidated by it, using Ableton Live didn’t help either. The software just seem too sophisticated for me and decided to not mess with it for some time. Instead, I focused on mixing, creating 30mins to 1 hour long mixes of my favorite tracks…and for this, Acid Pro 7 was my go to software. I learned the software quickly and naturally. I didn’t feel intimidated by it, I guess it was the simplicity and yet powerful. I could get very creative with it, in fact I got sidetracked mixing and having fun creating 1hr+ long mix sets and sending it to friends that I forgot the most important aspect of having the software….to create your own art.
Fast forward to 2019, when the world was in chaos, I saw this as an opportunity to finally dive into creating my own music, I started investing in the tools that matter to make my own art, the DAWs, the plugins, the MIDIs, the Synths, etc. And now, I just need to let my imagination free…
